Shout!

We produce Shout! every two months. It is designed to fill the information needs of community music practitioners and activists throughout Victoria.

Each edition contains listings of:

upcoming festivals and musical performances of interest (from across Victoria);
workshops, classes, and other skill development opportunities;
conferences, seminars and other networking opportunities;
funding details and deadlines;
awards and competitions.

Each issue also includes short pieces on a huge variety of matters of interest to the musically inclined:

significant community music projects;
new musical resources in local government;
what's happening musically in local community centres;
new publications, websites and appointments;
analysis of community music activities;
profiles of interesting people in community music;
making connections between community music and community building, etc.

Subscribing

The hard copy of Shout! is snail-mailed every two months to key individuals, groups and organisations throughout Victoria (Libraries, Neighbourhood Houses, Local Government staff, arts organisations, ...).

If you want your own directly delivered hard copy you can subscribe. This is a great way of supporting us: we really need your money!

Advertising

Our policy is to include every piece of news relevant to community music-making that we can find. This means that every item is small and even then there's no room for ads in the body of the bulletin. It also means that most things get a run without money changing hands.
However, we will cheerfully relieve you of your cash for an insert (folded to DL size).

This is our quarterly (currently hard copy) round-up of stories from around the singing circles of Victoria.
